_REGULAR MEETING JULY 26 1966 <br />PETITION <br />The undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application and petition the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana to amend the zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana as hereinafter requested, <br />and in support of this application, the following facts are shown: <br />1. The property sought to be rezoned is located at approximately 3911 -17 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana. <br />2. The property is owned by Estelle C. Cover <br />3. A legal description of the property is as follows: <br />Three Hundred (300) feet in width, North and South, off of the entire South <br />Side of the Chippewa Knoll Realty owned by Seller in South Bend, Indiana, <br />which Chippewa Knoll realty is the real estate owned by Seller and described <br />as follows: <br />Beginning at the intersection of the South line of Chippewa Avenue and the <br />Westerly line of South Michigan Street; thence Southerly on the Westerly <br />line of said South Michigan Street a distance of 735 feet, more or less, <br />to the North line of Lot No. 69 in Chippewa Heights Third Addition in South <br />Bend, Indiana;thence West along the North Line of Lot No. 69 and Lot No. <br />108 in said Chippewa Heights Third Addition to the Easterly line of South <br />Main Street; thence North along the Easterly line of South Main Street to the <br />South line of Chippewa Avenue; thence East along the South line of Chippewa <br />Avenue to the point of beginning. <br />4. It is desired and requested that the foregoing property be rezoned: From "B Residential <br />Use and B Height and Area District To: "C" Commercial Use and A Height and Area District. <br />5. It is proposed that the property will be put to the following use and the following building will <br />be constructed: One story building for the use of Restaurant and Bar. <br />6. Number of off street parking spaces to be provided: 103 <br />7. Attached is a copy of: a.) an existing plot plan showing my property and other surrounding properties; <br />b.) names and addresses of all the individuals, firms or corporations owning property within 300 feet <br />of the property sought to be rezoned; c.) site development plan <br />/s/ Robert L. Councilman Smith <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 11 OF ORDINANCE NO. 4838 -66 <br />ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 36 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, <br />RELATING TO TAXICABS AND OTHER VEHICLES; AND ENACTING AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TAXICABS AND OTHER VEHICLES; <br />LICENSING TAXICABS AND TAXICAB DRIVERS;PROVIDING FOR TAXICAB STANDS ON THE PUBLIC STREETS;PROVIDING <br />PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF" <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the Ordinance go to the <br />Council favorable, as amended. <br />There being no objections, the report was accepted and placed on /s/ Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman <br />file. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE. OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 40 OF <br />THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (N.E.
