MFETTNG NOVEMBER 13 1965 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the <br />Council Chambers on Saturday,,November 13, at 10 :00 A.M., with all members present, The meeting was called <br />to order by .john L. Hunter, Jr., President. except Councilman Muszynski <br />The Clerk read the call for Special Meeting, as follows: <br />STATE OF INDIANA ) <br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY ) SS: CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND ) <br />To the President and Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Gentlemen: <br />You are hereby notified that there will be a meeting of the Common Council on Saturday, <br />November 13, 1965, at 10:00 A.M.I. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, for the purpose <br />of determining if a vacancy exists in the office of Councilman and, if such vacancy be <br />found to exist, for the purpose of filling such vacancy pursuant to the laws of the <br />State of Indiana. <br />The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith <br />serve a copy of this notice on each and every member of the Common Council and make'diie <br />return of such service of said Special Meeting. <br />Dated this 12th day of November, 1965. <br />/s/ Kathryn L. Hunter, Jr. <br />Irvin Gloyeski <br />Daniel Niedbalski <br />Members of the South Bend Police Department <br />The call was unanimously accepted and placed on file. <br />20, <br />Councilman Smith submitted the name of Robert 0. Laven, as Councilman of the Third District. <br />Councilman Hunter seconded the nominatio8;:;:•Councilman Allen made a motion that the nominations be <br />closed. Motion Carried. Robert 0. Laven was appointed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent, <br />to fill the unexpired term of Walter E. Glass, deceased, Councilman of the Third District. (Councilman <br />Muszynski) <br />Mr. Laven took the Oath of Office, given by Mayor Lloyd M. Allen. <br />Councilman Smith made a motion that the meeting be adjourned.
