C0MMITTEE4: OF t THE - WHOLE NF:F.TTNr. NOVEMBER $, 1965 <br />Bb it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, November 8, 1965, at 8 :00 P.M., with all mekbers present <br />except Councilman Glass, who passed away on November 5, 1965. The meeting was called to order by Councilman <br />Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman, who presided. <br />Councilman Smith introduced Reverend Paul E. Chalfant of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, who gave the devotions. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA (Location: 1010 and 1012 North Olive St) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the the above ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the ordinance go <br />to the Council as favorable. Councilman Geib• seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Location: 138 acres, more or <br />less, commonly known as Izaak Walton League) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Geib made a motion that the Ordinance go to <br />the Council as favorable. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3702(Location: 11.7 acres, more <br />or less, east of Miami Rd., North of Jackson <br />and abutting the city limits on east) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go <br />to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Location: East of Miami <br />Rd., near Jackson Rd., abutting city limits <br />on south side). <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance go to <br />the Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Location: 167.79 acres, more <br />or less, generally between Colfa$ Rd., and Toll <br />Road, on Portage Road) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance go <br />to the Council as favorable. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (General Description: <br />1121 N. Hickory Road) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the ordinance was Robert Zimmerman, <br />attorney, speaking in behalf of the petitioners Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Mielke. Also, speaking in favor of <br />the ordinance were F. E. Parkhurst,1110 Whitehall, and Warren Dayton, 1116 Whitehall. Councilman Wise <br />made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND TRANSFERRING $5,000.00 INTO <br />ACCOUNT XX -252 DESIGNATED AS SERVICES CONTRACTUAL, REPAIRS <br />OF EQUIPMENT, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERED 4794 -65 <br />AND 4795 -65. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to <br />the Council as favorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Wise made a motion <br />to rise and report to the Council.
