REGULAR- MEETING-- <br />MEETING -- -- <br />JULY _29__1965___ <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, <br />except Councilmen Palmer and Glass. The Meeting was <br />who presided. <br />AUGUST 9, 1965 <br />of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />August 9, 1965, at 8:02 P.M., with all members present <br />called to order by Councilman Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman, <br />Councilman Hunter asked the Clerk to notify the City Planning Commission to have a representative attend the <br />next meeting of the Council on August 23rd, 1965 to advise the Council on zoning matters. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS AMENDED, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CHANGING <br />THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN LAND SITUATED WITHIN <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FROM "A" HEIGHT AND AREA <br />DISTRICT TO "E" HEIGHT AND AREA DISTRICT. <br />(Southeast corner of intersection of Miami and Lincoln Way <br />East covering 1114 through 1134 Lincoln WayEast and 1232 <br />through 1240 Miami). <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr. Charle6 Roemer, Attorney for the i <br />petitioners, who informed the Council of an error in legal description of ordinance. Councilman Allen made a i <br />motion to amend the legal description of the ordinance. Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Allen then made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Geib <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 3702. <br />(North by Calvert, East by Grant St., South by Ewing Ave. <br />and alley between Ewing and Highland Aves.) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
