1?3 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING November 9, 1964 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, November 9, 1964, at 8 :00 P.M., with all members present <br />except Councilman Wise. The meeting was called to order by Councilman Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND <br />CITY WATER WORKS AND THE STANCO MIDWEST SALES CO. FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF HIAB SPEED LOADER MODEL 177 WITH 18 FEET BOOM <br />LENGTH IN THE SUM OF $4,210.00; <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favor- <br />able. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND <br />CITY WATER WORKS AND THE MEMPHIS EQUIPMENT CO. FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF REO "M" SERIES 2? TON 6X6 RECONDITIONED TRUCK <br />IN THE SUM OF $4,395.00. <br />This beingthe time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS FROM STREET AND <br />TRAFFIC FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.00 TO MOTOR EQUIPMENT <br />ACCOUNT S -722. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO THE SERVICES - <br />CONTRACTUAL ACCOUNTS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $4,500.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM THE SERVICES - <br />PERSONAL ACCOUNT OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE GENERAL <br />FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,340.00 AND THE REDUCTIONS IN THE <br />SAME AMOUNT OF ANOTHER ACCOUNT, TO -WIT: ACCOUNT L -11. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to adjourn. <br />Councilman Geib seconded the motion.
