MEETIN( OCTOBER 13 1964 <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />October 5, 1964 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to rezone from "B" Residential Use and "D" Light <br />Industrial Use and "A" Height and Area District to "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District <br />the property bounded on the North by Indiana Avenue, on the South by the first East -West alley North of <br />Prairie Avenue, on the East by Walnut Street, and on the West by the 1st North -South alley West of Magnolia <br />Street was legally advertised under date of September 21, 1964 and given public hearing on October 1, 1964. <br />The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the <br />predominant use in the subject area is single family <br />residential. It was therefore duly moved, seconded, <br />and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended <br />favorably to the Council. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Robert L. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE No, 4694 - -64 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />(Nash St., Grant St., Prairie Ave. and Calvert St.) <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski) <br />ORDINANCE NO, 4695 - -64 <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO THE EQUIPMENT <br />REPAIR ACCOUNT OF THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$3,549.00 WITH SAID SUM BEING TRANSFERRED FROM THE MOTOR <br />EQUIPMENT ACCOUNT OF THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes - 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski) <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />(Washington St., Laurel St., Napier St. and Walnut St.) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion that <br />the ordinance be set for public hearing on October 26, 1964. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE. FIRST & SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />(Indiana Ave., Prairie Ave., Walnut St., and Magnolia St.) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion that <br />the ordinance be set for public hearing on October 26, 1964. Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 9 TO ORDINANCE NO. 4207 ENTITLED <br />"AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE OF SEWAGE SERVICE CHARGES <br />TO ALL USERS OF CITY SEWER SERVICE OR CITY WATER SERVICE FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF REPAIR AND /OR REPLACEMENT OF WATER SERVICE LINES, <br />SHUT -OFF BOXES AND WATER METER MANHOLES ", AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE <br />NO. 4260. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion that <br />the ordinance be set for public hearing on October 26, 1964. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ($3,000.00) TO THE SEWER DEPARTMENT <br />FOR THE REPAIRS TO SEWER REPLACEMENT ;,.,SAID,,($3,000.00),TO.BE A <br />TRANSFER FROM ACCOUNT J -12 INTO ACCOUNT J -2621 ALL BEING IN THE <br />GENERAL FUND. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion that <br />the ordinance be set for public hearing on October 26, 1964. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />(Meade St., Prast Blvd., Bendix Drive, Bonds Ave. and (teen St.) <br />Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the ordinance be referred back to the City Planning Commission for <br />amendment by excluding the following lots: 16220 inclusive 23 -27 inclusive and 30 -34 inclusive of Part of West- <br />chester 1st Unit. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
