REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 28, 1964 REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend September 5, 1964 South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to rezone from "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District the property bounded on the East by Meade Street, on the West by Bendix Drive, on the North by Prast Blvd., and on the South by Westmore Street was legally advertised under date of August 24, 1964 and given public hearing on September 3, 1964. The following action was taken :. After due consideration the Commission found that the predominant use in the subject area is single family residential. It was therefore duly moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Council. Very truly yours, CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Robert L. REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: September 4, 1964 Please withdraw the following ordinance originated by the Planning Commission, as it is not legally correct due to the passage of Ordinance No. 4685 -64: Bounded in the North by Indiana Avenue, Walnut. Street on the East, Prairie Avenue on the South and by the lst north -south alley east of Nash Street on the West. The Planning Commission will submit a corrected ordinance at a later date. ORDINANCE N0, 4688 - -64 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Property South of Western Ave., North of New York Central Railroad and Grand Trunk Western Railway Company) The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 4689 - -64 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (St. Vincent St., Hill St., Corby St., Niles Ave. and Lawrence St.) The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 4690 - -64 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Indiana Ave., Brookfield St., Calvert St. and Carlisle St.) The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. ORDINANCE N0. 4691 - -64 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF THE AREA PLANNING ACT, CHAPTER 138, ACTS OF 1957, INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AS AMENDED The ordinance, as amended, was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes (Councilmen Hunter, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Smith and Muszynski), 2 nays (Councilmen Allen and Glass). ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SANITATION OF VENDING FOOD AND BEVERAGES, TO LICENSES AND PERMITS APPLICABLE THERETO, ESTABLISHING MINIMUM SANITATION STANDARDS, AND DEFINING TERMS AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. Councilman Allen made a motion that the ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee and first and second reading be held on November 9, 1964. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Smith made a motion that the next regular meeting of the Council be held on October 13, 1964 instead of October 12, 1964, which is Columbus Day. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried.
