Y <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, July 13, 1964, at 8:00 P.M., with all members present <br />except Councilman Smith. The meeting was called to order by Cottfictlman John V. Wise, Acting Chairman, who <br />presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $8,500.00 FOR THE MAKING OF <br />NECESSARY REPAIRS REQUIRED ON THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, City Attorney Robert J. DuComb <br />announced that the ordinance be withdrawn for the reason that the Morris Foundation had donated to the City <br />sufficient funds to cover the cost of the repair work on the Morris Civic Auditorium. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance be withdrawn. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. A note of thanks was sent to the Morris Foundation to express our appreciation of the <br />donation of $8,500.00 to cover the cost of the repair work on the Morris Civic Auditorium. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ($32,000.00) TO THE STREET DEPARTMENT <br />IN THE PURCHASE OF STREET AND ALLEY MATERIALS; SAID ($32,000.00) <br />TO BE A TRANSFER FROM FUND S -264 INTO FUND S -421. <br />This being the'time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3895 DESIGNATING WEST EWING <br />AVENUE A BOULEVARD AND HEREBY REDESIGNATING AND DELCARING WEST <br />EWING AVENUE TO BE ,A BOULEVARD FROM FRANKLIN STREET TO GERTRVDE <br />STREET. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance be postponed <br />until next meeting on July 27th, 1964. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion lost by a roll call <br />vote of 2 ayes (Councilmen Allen and Muszynski), 6 nays (Councilmen Hunter, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak,and <br />Glass), 1 absent (Councilman Smith). <br />Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hunter seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 5 ayes (Councilmen Hunter, Palmer, Wise, Geib, SzymkowiakJ, <br />3 days (Councilmen Allen, Glass and Muszynski), l absent (Councilman Smith). <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Geib made a motion to adjourn. <br />Councilman hunter seconded the motion.
