DIE -MEETING— MARCH 23, 1964 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, March 23, 1964, at 8 :00 P.M., with all members present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Councilman Edwin T. Smith, Chairman, who presided. <br />Councilman Hunter made a motion that Item # 2 on the Agenda be taken up; first. Councilman Wise seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS <br />ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />(6 Acre triangular tract fronting Riverside Drive) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents mere <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance was Mr. Robert J. <br />Zimmerman, Attorney for petitioners, C. R. Holloway,and Lock Joint Tube Company. Councilman Glass made a motion <br />that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />(142 So. Meade Street) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents., were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance was Mr. J. Chester Allen, <br />Attorney for petitioner, Mr. DeWitt Marshall, Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance be held up <br />until April 13th and that petitioner bring in property owners to express their opinion on zoning the described <br />property. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to adjourn. <br />Councilman Geib seconded the motion.
