16 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in <br />the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, February 10, 1964, at 8:00 P.M., with all members present. The <br />meeting was called to order by Councilman Edwin T. Smith, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 3702 <br />(Northwest corner of Linden b College Sts.) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Glass made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 3702 <br />(142 So. Meade Street) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. J. Chester Allen, Attorney for petitioner, stated that Mr. Marshall DeWitt <br />is hospitalized and asked for continuance until next meeting on February 24th, 1964. Councilman Muszynski made a <br />motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on February 24th. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORD.... INANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN REAL PROPERTY BECAUSE OF <br />RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, RELIGION, OR ANCESTRY BY CERTAIN OWNERS, <br />SELLERS, RENTERS, LESSORS, GRANTORS, LESSEES, GRANTEES, ASSIGNEES, <br />MANAGING AGENTS, REAL ESTATE BROKERS, REAL ESTATE SALESMEN, LENDERS, <br />AND OTHERS. PROVIDING FOR THE RENAMING OF THE SOUTH BEND FAIR EMPLOYMENT <br />PRACTICE COMMISSION, PRESCRIBING ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND POWERS, AND <br />PROVIDING PENALTIES. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as <br />unfavorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn, <br />Councilman Hunter seconded the motion.
