REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 25, 1962 <br />recommendation that the recently annexed land being generally described as a parcel of land 620 feet north and :south <br />by 290 feet east and west at the, northwest corner of Edison and Ironwood Roads be zoned "C -1" Commercial Use: <br />After due consideration the Commission again found that in their opinion subject area should <br />be zoned "C" Commercial Use. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />/s/ Robert L. Huff <br />Director of Planning <br />RLH /mah <br />Councilman Lehman made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Allen seconded the motion <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilman Allen made a motion that the Council recess for five minutes. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. Council recessed at 8 :58 P.M. <br />The Council reconvened at 9:05 P.M. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4471 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 <br />AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (Northwest Corner of Edison and Ironwood) <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Coleman) <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />June 20, 1962 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />Under date of June 14, 1962 the South Bend City Planning Commission took the following action relative to the proper <br />zoning for the recently annexed land being generally described as a parcel of land on the west side of Ironwood <br />Road 662 feet north and south by 290 feet east and west and lying 620 feet north of Edison Road; <br />After due condieration the Commission found that due to the topography of the general area and the <br />concurrent cost of filling, residential construction would be precluded and that only commercial <br />enterprises could justify said cost of fill. The Commission also noted that the land immediately <br />to the east., to the north, and particularly to the south of subject area is zoned "C" Commercial. <br />It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that said area be-recommended to be <br />zoned "C" Commercial Use. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />/s/ Robert L.
