<br />AN ORDINANCE FOR EMERGENCY APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE STREET -AND TRAFFIC GENERAL FUND
<br />TO ACCOUNT NO. S -265 EMERGENCY REMOVAL OF TREES AND STUMPS AFFECTING STREETS AND
<br />TRAFFIC - $15,000.00
<br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 5 aye, (Councilmen Kroll, Ladewski, Tellson,
<br />Glass and Muszynski), 4 nays (Councilmen Allen, Coleman, Krueper and Lehman).
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 10
<br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING TWO ADDITIONAL TRACTS OF LAND AS A PART OF
<br />PROPOSED LOW RENT HOUSING PROJECT IND. 15 -3, WHICH TRACTS ARE
<br />LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF FREEMONT STREET BETWEEN BERGAN STREET
<br />AND MARQUETTE BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, has heretofore entered into a Cooperation Agreement -with The
<br />Housing Authority of the City of South Bend, Indiana; and,
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of said Cooperation Agreement, the City of South Bend, Indiana, has
<br />heretofore, on or about the 27th day of April, 1961, approved by the adoption of an appropriate resolution, two
<br />sites, one of such sites being West of Laurel Street between Western Avenue and the New York Central right -of -way
<br />in the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the other of such sites lying between South Bend Avenue and Napoleon
<br />Street, East of Duey Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana; and,
<br />WHEREAS, The Housing Authority of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has now found it desirable to acquire
<br />additional sites for the construction of said Housing Project IND. 15 -3, and has requested the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, to approve two sites consisting of approximately acres of land located in the City of South Bend,
<br />County of St. Joseph, and State of Indiana, and described as follows, to -wit:
<br />Lots Numbered Three Hundred Sixteen (316) to and including Lot Numbered Three
<br />Hundred Dorty -five (345) and Lots Numbered Five Hundred Thirty -five (535),
<br />Five Hundred Thirty- six(536), Five Hundred Thirty -seven (537), Five Hundred
<br />Sixty -three (563), Five Hundred Sixty -four (564) and Five Hundred Sixty -five
<br />(565) all in Vernon Heights Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />for the purpose of using the same in connection with the construction of a part of Housing Project IND. 15 -3
<br />thereon; and,
<br />WHEREAS, The Housing Committee of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has inspected
<br />said sites and has determined that they would be desirable locations for the construction of low rent housing units;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, that two sites
<br />consisting of approximately acres of land, which tracts are located on the West side of Freemont Street
<br />between Bergan Street and Marquette Boulevard, in the City of South Bend, Indiana, as more particularly described
<br />hereinabove, be, and the same are hr-reby approved as desirable sites for the construction of low rent housing units
<br />to form a part of Housing Project IND. 15 -3.
<br />This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. Passed by the Common Counc
<br />this 11th day of June, 1962.
