COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />MAY 14, 1962 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in <br />the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, May 14, 1962, at 8:07 P.M., with all members present except <br />Councilman Ladewski. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND, $50,000.00 <br />This being the time set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, said hearing having been continued from the <br />meetings of April 9, 1962 and April 23, 1962, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. <br />Councilman Allen made a motion to amend the Ordinance by striking $50,000.00 and inserting $32,000.00 in the title <br />and in Lines 6 and 7 in Section II and Line 8 in Section III. Councilman Krueper seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable as amended. Council- <br />man Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />CERTAIN LANDS (1.4 acres on Lilac Road) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an <br />opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. <br />Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />CERTAIN LANDS (38.9 acres along the Pennsylvania Railroad Tracks) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an <br />opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Tellson made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable, <br />Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />CERTAIN LANDS (.6 acres in Wilmette Park) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an <br />opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking against the propoaed Ordinance was Mr. Jack,,:Davis 17512 Bryan Street,`on4 <br />of the owners of subject property. Richard Kirkman, 1118 Queen Street, was also heard on this Ordinance, stating <br />that he was against small areas being annexed just to straighten out the city limit lines. Councilmen Krueper, Glass <br />and Coleman were heard. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Counci: <br />man Kroll seconded the motion.
