ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (County Home and County Highway Garage) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion to <br />table the Ordinance indefinitely. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried, <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (2 acres on Edison east of Ironwood) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the <br />Ordinance be set for public hearing on March 12, 1962. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4437 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH-BEND, <br />INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Land on Lathrop and Maple -- -Boy Scouts) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made a motion for sus- <br />pension of rules. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE <br />AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (All but the northwest corner of the block bounded by <br />Wayne, Scott, Taylor and Western) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the <br />Ordinance beset for public hearing on March 12, 1962. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4438 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE <br />AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED ' (Recently annexed land at Roosevelt and Ironwood) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Krueper made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4439 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE <br />AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (Recently annexed land at South Bend Avenue and Ironwood) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9ayes and 0 nays. <br />The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4440 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Land owned by South Bend Gravel Company) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion for sus- <br />pension of rules. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4441 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING, RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING A CERTAIN CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT <br />MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ACTING BY <br />AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, AND NORTHERN INDIANA TRANSIT,INC., <br />ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, WHICH SAID CONTRACT RELATES TO THE RATES CHARGED FOR <br />BUS TRANSPORTATION SERVICE UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN SAID CITY <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />The Ordinance was then .given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />I' ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND, <br />$15,000.00 AND IN THE FAIR EMPLOYMENT.PRACTICE COMMISSION, $155.42 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Tellson made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. After some discussion, Councilman Tellson withdrew <br />his motion and.Councilman Lehman withdrew his second to the motion. Councilman Coleman then moved that the Ordinance <br />be set for public hearing on March 26, 1962. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND: <br />There are insufficient funds in the General Fund of the City to meet operating needs which were included in the <br />regular budget and appropriation adopted for the year 1962 which are required to be met prior to the receipt of taxes <br />in the year 1962. It will be necessary to authorize and make a temporary loan for the General Fund in the amount of <br />$500,000.00, and I recommend that a temporary loan be authorized for the General Fund in the amount of $500,000.00, <br />and that the warrants evidencing said loan be made payable June 15, 1962. <br />The net assessed valuation of taxable property in the City, as shown by the assessment made for City and County tax <br />in the year 1961, is in the amount of $226,517,410.00. The tax levy made for the General Fund for the year 1962 was <br />$2.803 on each $100.00 taxable valuation, and I estimate that the total amount to be received from such tax levy <br />
