ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (County Home and County Highway Garage) The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion to table the Ordinance indefinitely. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried, ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (2 acres on Edison east of Ironwood) The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on March 12, 1962. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 4437 - - -62 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH-BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Land on Lathrop and Maple -- -Boy Scouts) The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made a motion for sus- pension of rules. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the Ordinance beset for public hearing on March 12, 1962. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 4438 - - -62 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED ' (Recently annexed land at Roosevelt and Ironwood) The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Krueper made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 4439 - - -62 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (Recently annexed land at South Bend Avenue and Ironwood) The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion for sus- pension of rules. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 4441 - - -62 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING, RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING A CERTAIN CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, AND NORTHERN INDIANA TRANSIT,INC., ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, WHICH SAID CONTRACT RELATES TO THE RATES CHARGED FOR BUS TRANSPORTATION SERVICE UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGHWAYS IN SAID CITY The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. I' ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND, $15,000.00 AND IN THE FAIR EMPLOYMENT.PRACTICE COMMISSION, $155.42 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Tellson made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. After some discussion, Councilman Tellson withdrew his motion and.Councilman Lehman withdrew his second to the motion. Councilman Coleman then moved that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on March 26, 1962. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried. TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND: There are insufficient funds in the General Fund of the City to meet operating needs which were included in the regular budget and appropriation adopted for the year 1962 which are required to be met prior to the receipt of taxes in the year 1962. It will be necessary to authorize and make a temporary loan for the General Fund in the amount of $500,000.00, and I recommend that a temporary loan be authorized for the General Fund in the amount of $500,000.00, and that the warrants evidencing said loan be made payable June 15, 1962. The net assessed valuation of taxable property in the City, as shown by the assessment made for City and County tax in the year 1961, is in the amount of $226,517,410.00. The tax levy made for the General Fund for the year 1962 was $2.803 on each $100.00 taxable valuation, and I estimate that the total amount to be received from such tax levy
