Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT December 31, 1961 FOURTH ANNUAL REPORT OF WATER SERVICE INSURANCE PROGRAM To the Honorable Frank J. Bruggner, Mayor and The Honorable Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana In keeping with the custom heretofore adopted by this department we submit our annual report to you which is as follows: Bank Balance as of January 1, 1961 Receipts for 1961 Disbursements for 1961 Total Reserve Fund Total Receipts for four years operation Total Disbursements for four years operation Total Reserve Fund We installed 198 new services from curb to house We installed 18 new lead services from main to curb We repaired ::226 house services Total 442 repairs or replacements for 1961 Average cost per job in 1961 -- $112.82 $71,138,19 68,051.70 $ 3,086.49 $229,609.90 $218,016.74 $ 11,593.16 We have repaired or replaced 1843 services in the four years of operation. $ 8,506.67 3,086.49 $11,593.16 $11,593.16 I would be happy to elaborate more fully at any time convenient to the Mayor or Members of the Common Council. In conclusion we wish to advise that our experience with this program to date would indicate that no increase in the tax rate will be necessary at this time.
