419 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />7 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in <br />the Council Chambers on Monday, January 28, 1962, at 8:06 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called <br />to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 3913 (AS AMENDED) (ELECTRICAL INSPECTION) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance. Councilman Kroll made a motion to <br />present an Amended Ordinance to the Council. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Coleman moved that the Amended Ordinance be kept in the Committee of the Whole for further study until <br />the next regular meeting of the Council. Councilman Krueper seconded the motiaa. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 12, ARTICLE II, SECTIONS 2 to 13 INCLUSIVE OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, APPROVED AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, JULY 12, 1949, AND ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 2948 (Peddler Ordinance) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />CERTAIN LANDS (49.5 acres between City Limits and Ireland Road, east and west of Michigan St). <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an <br />opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking against the proposed Ordinance were Donald Coleman, Attorney and Charles <br />Roemer, Attorney, representing families in the area to be annexed; and Barbara Bassett who lives in the area. <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Krueper seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS AMENDED, WHICH ORDINANCE IS COMMONLY <br />CALLED THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS AMENDED <br />(937 South Bend Avenue) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon.. Speaking against the proposed Ordinance was Nicholas P. Cholis, Attorney. <br />Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Leo P. Reeder, Attorney. <br />Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried upon a roll call vote of 5 ayes (Councilmen Kroll, Ladewski, Coleman, Lehman and <br />Muszynski), 4 nays (Councilmen Allen, Tellson, Glass and Krueper). <br />There bieng no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Coleman made a motion to <br />adjourn.
