REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL RECDN,V D-AT- 8 -.-42 P.M. President Kroll called the meeting to order. He introduced Miss Evangeline Lee, Greenwich, - Australia, and Miss Mary J Kasindi of Tanganyika, Africa, who are foreign students attending St. Marys College. Councilman Coleman introduced Mr. John Sherbun of the United Community Services. REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. REPORT OF TRAFFIC ENGINEER Board of Public Works and Safety City Hall South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: At a regular meeting of the South Bend Common Council, October 24, 1961, Adjutant of the American Legion Post #357, Inc., was presented requesting intersection of Western Avenue (SR-,'2) and Kosciuszko ttreet. October 30, 1961 a petition signed by the Commander and installation of_a traffic signal at the This petition was referred to this department through the Board of Public Works and Safety. COMMUNICATION To: Members of Common Council At: City Hall From: Henry Sucher At: Redevelopment Department Executive Director Date: October 25, 1961 Subject: Mr. Roy Root, South Bend Redevelopment Trustee In checking our departmental records, we find that the term of Roy Root as South Bend Redevelopment Trustee expires on the first Monday of December, 1961. Since Mr, Root was appointed by the Mayor upon the nomination by the Common Council, Mr. Root would have to be renominated or a successor nominated by the same method.
