Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole, in
<br />the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, on Monday, November 13, 1961, at 8 :05 P.M., with all members present. The
<br />meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided.

<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED
<br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,100,000.00) TO BE APPLIED ON THE COST OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF STORM,
<br />SANITARY AND OTHER SEWERS TO MAPLE ROAD FOR THE NORTHWEST INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AREA, AS
<br />WELL AS IN THE AREA OF LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD AND IROQUOIS AVENUE LOCATED NORTH OF THE ST.
<br />JOSEPH RIVER AND IN THE CHIPPEWA AVENUE AND IRELAND ROAD AREAS; ALSO, FOR THE ACQUIRING
<br />OF LANDS AND RIGHTS -OF -WAY FOR A NEW SAMPLE STREET BRIDGE, AND FOR MAKING MAJOR THOROUGH-
<br />FARE IMPROVEMENTS AND ACQUIRING OF RIGHTS -OF -WAY THEREFOR, TOGETHER WITH THE INCIDENTAL

<br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Committee of the Whole recess at this time and the Council go into the Regular

<br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2 AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 4407 - - -61 OF THE CITY OF
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY FOR THE
<br />PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO BE APPLIED ON THE COST OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF STORM, SANITARY
<br />AND OTHER SEWERS TO MAPLE ROAD FOR THE NORTHWEST INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AREA, AS WELL AS

<br />PROVIDE FOR A CHANGE IN THE MATURITIES OF SAID BOND
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Ladewski made a motion for
<br />suspension of rules. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Moticn carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes (Counci:
<br />men Kroll, Allen,'Ladewski, Tellson, Coleman, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski), 0 nays. The Ordinance was the
<br />given Third reading by the Clerk and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes (Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Tellson;
<br />Coleman, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski), 0 nays.
<br />Councilman Allen made a motion to recess the Regular Meeting of the Common Council. Councilman Muszynski seconded
<br />the motion. Motion carried and the Regular Meeting of the Common Council recessed at 8:22 P.M.

<br />the motion. Motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND - $1,458.48
<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given
<br />an opportunity to be heard thereon. Miss Virginia Guthrie, South Bend Civic Planning Association and Dan Richardson,
<br />Street Commissioner, were heard.
<br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Coelman seconded
<br />the motion. Motion carried.
