<br />RELATING TO TRAFFIC AND REGULATING THE USE OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA CREATING AND DEFINING PARKING METER ZONES; PROVIDING FOR THE
<br />INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE, PURCHASE, LEASING, USE,SERVICING, REPAIR,
<br />REPLACEMENT, ACQUIRING AND REGULATION OF PARKING METERS; PRESCRIBING PARKING TIME
<br />LIMITS; REQUIRING DEPOSITS OF COINS FOR THE USE OF PARKING METERS AND PARKING METER
<br />ZONES AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSITION OF SUCH COINS; REPEALING

<br />INDIANA, 1949, GENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 3709, AND AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4289,
<br />PASSED DECEMBER 14, 1959.
<br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen Allen
<br />and Glass).

<br />Gentlemen:
<br />The attached petition of George K. and Cecelia Buechner to rezone Lots Numbered 38 and 39, as shown on the recorded
<br />Plat of Oliver Heights Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana, from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and
<br />Area District to "C -1" Commercial Use and "C" Height and Area District was legally advertised under date of August
<br />28, 1961 and given public hearing on September 7, 1961. The following action was taken:
<br />After due consideration the Commission found that surrounding land use was predominantly commercial,
<br />that the two lots in question have been vacant for many years and that commercial zoning would be in
<br />the best interests of the general area and the City of South Bend. It was therefore duly moved,
<br />seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Council

<br />Gentlemen:
<br />The attached proposal to annex to the City of South Bend, Indiana, the following described property: Beginning at a
<br />point on Ireland Road (which point is also the present city limits), thence east along the center line of Ireland
<br />Road for a distance of 793 feet, more or less, thence north along the ast line of the west half of the NE'k of
<br />Section 30 for a distance of 2,152 feet, more or less, to the present city limits, thence west and south along the
<br />present city limits to the place of beginning containing 37.31 acres, more or less, was legally advertised binder
<br />date of August 28, 1961 and given public hearing on September 7, 1961. The following action was taken:
<br />The Commission was of the opinion that the six determinants of annexation exist. It was therefore
<br />duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the attached proposal be recommended to the
<br />Common Council for favorable action.
