COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />OCTOBER 10, 1960 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole, <br />in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, on Monday, October 10, 1960, at 7:07 P.M., with all members present. <br />The meeting was called to order by T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS <br />HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (119 S. Scott and 710 W. Washington) <br />259 <br />This matter having been continued from September 27th, 1960, Councilman Kroll now makes a motion that the Ordinance <br />go to -the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />(Real Estate involved located on Portage Avenue - - -700 Block) <br />This matter having been continued from September 27th, 1960, Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance <br />go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Krueper_:seconded'•the motion. Councilman Muszynski asked for a roll <br />call vote. Motion lost by a roll call vote of 5 nays, 4 ayes (Councilmen Ladewski, Coleman, Krueper and Lehman). <br />Councilman Allen then made a motion that the matter be deferred until October 24th, 1960. Councilman Kroll secon <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, <br />AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (2806 LINCOLNWAY WEST) <br />This being the time set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunii <br />to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance were Nicholas P. Cholis, Attorney for the St. Joseph <br />Bank and Trust Company and an associate of Charles Boynton, Attorney; Fred Helmen, President of the St. Joseph <br />Bank and Trust Company. Speaking against the proposed Ordinance were John Predona, 1109 Eclipse; Bernard F. Gornes <br />1045 N. Eclipse; Dr. W. Smith, 2801 Lincolnway West; Mrs. C. A. Mott, 2733 Lincolnway West; Mrs. Bernard Streets, <br />2534 Linconway West; Dr. C. A. Mott, 2733 Lincolnway West. Speaking in rebuttal was Charles Boynton, Attorney <br />for the St. Joseph Bank and Trust Company. <br />Councilman Allen made a motion for a five minute recess. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Recessed at 7:55 P.M. The Meeting reconvened at 8:08 P.M. <br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the matter be deferred until October 24th, 1960. Councilman Muszynski second- <br />ed the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Kroll made a motion.to adjourrj <br />Councilman. Muszynski seconded the motion.
