214 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />JUNE 13, 1960 <br />Be it remembered that the Cummon Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole, in <br />the Council Chambers, City. Hall, on Monday, ,tune 13, 1960, at 8:09 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was <br />called to order by Councilman Lehman, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE BUSINESS OF INSTALLING AND SERVICING TELEVISION EQUIPMENT IN THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND; TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND <br />TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE TERMS THEREOF <br />The Public hearing on the above ordinance was continued from May 23, 1960. Proponents and opponents were given an <br />opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. <br />Speaking in favor of the Ordinance were the following: <br />Mr. Paul Schwertley, Attorney for the Petitioners; James Leddy, Manager of the South Bend - Mishawaka Beter Business <br />Bureau; John Frick, 2710 Sampson Street; Russell Bills, 1410 Sorin Street; Bill Rapport, 1110 Victory Lane; Mr. Davis, <br />1362 N. O'Brien; <br />Speaking against the proposed Ordinance were the following: <br />Joe Klutz, 1012 E. Milton Street; Roman F. Korpal, 1410 North Olive Street; Frank Papczynski, 606 S. Albert Street; <br />Everett Larry Adams, 1906 Miami Street; Dale Miller, 1325 Bryon Drive; Larry Davis, 17081 Ethel Ave.; Harvey Engel, <br />744 Cottage Grove Avenue; Bill Hazelton, 1238 Catherwood Drive; Donald Smith, 626 35th Street; Matt Krizman, Walnut <br />Machine Company; Jim Spainhower, 138 Leyte Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. <br />Speaking in Rebuttal to answer questions was Mr. Schwertley. <br />After some discussion, Councilman Kroll asked for a five minute recess. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motio <br />carried. Recess granted at 9:10 P.M. <br />The Committee of the Whole meeting reconvened at 9:17 P.M. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance Committee who will refer it to the Le- <br />gal department. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to <br />adjourn. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion.
