COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING MAY 23, 1960 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City* of South Bend, In met in the Committee of the Whole, on <br />Monday, May 23, 1960, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, at 8:45 P.M., with all members present except Councilman <br />Muszynski.. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR <br />SERVICES RENDERED BY THE WATERWORKS SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Public hearing was had on this Ordinance. Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. <br />Howard Goodhew, President of the South Bend Civic Planning Association, asked questions which were answered by <br />Mr. G. G. Skelton and Mr. James Dincolo, Certified Public Accountants,. who were retained by the South Bend Water <br />Works. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF EXTENSIONS AND ADDITIONS <br />TO THE WATERWORKS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING <br />THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS TO PROVIDE FOR THE COST THEREOF, AND MATTER CONNECTED <br />THEREWITH. <br />Public hearing was had on this Ordinance. Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE BUSINESS OF INSTALLING AND SERVICING TELEVISON <br />EQUIPMENT IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND; TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND <br />ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF <br />THE TERMS THEREOF <br />Public Hearing was had on this Ordinance. Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. <br />Paul Schwertley, Attorney representing the proponents explained the Ordinance. Councilman Allen.made a motion that <br />the Ordinance be continued in the Committee of the Whole until the next regular meeting of the Council on June <br />13th. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to <br />adjourn.
