Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Office of <br />the Mayor in the City Hall, on Saturday, April 23, 1960, at 10:20 A.M., with all members present except Councilmen <br />Tellson and Lehman. The meeting was called to order by President Joseph T. Kroll, who presided. <br />The Clerk then read the call for the Special Meeting. <br />STATE OF INDIANA <br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY : SS: <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND : <br />CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING <br />To the President and Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Gentlemen; <br />You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by Law as Mayor of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet in the Office of the <br />Mayor in the City Hall, at the hour of 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, April 23, 1960, for the purpose of the following: <br />ALSO: <br />TO ACT ON A RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE SOUTH BEND FROM THE EASTERN STANDARD TIME ZONE <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING AN INSPECTION TOUR OF THE PROGRESS OF THE FEDERAL HOUSING PROJECT AT WESTERN <br />AVENUE AND TAYLOR STREET <br />The Chief of Police or any member of the Police force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on <br />each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Call for Special Meeting. <br />Dated this 20th day of April, 1960. <br />Isl Edward F. Zub] <br />Member of the South Bend Policd Department <br />And by leaving a certified copy thereof at the last and usual place of residence of such members as I was unable to <br />find as follows: <br />Member of the South Bend Police Department <br />Councilman Allen made a motion that the Call for Special Meetirg be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Krueper <br />seconded the motion. Motion. carried. <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Coleman, Glass, Krueper and Muszynski <br />ABSENT: Councilmen Tellson and Lehman <br />The Clerk then read the Resolution in its entirety. <br />Councilman Allen made a motion to amend the third paragraph of the Resolution to read ",six months" instead of <br />"seven months". Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion for a five minute recess. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carrier <br />RECESS at 11:05 A.M. <br />The meeting being reconvened at 11:20 A.M, and Councilmen Tellson and Lehman now being present, the Roll Call now <br />shows all present, none absent. Councilman Coleman moved for Adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Allen seconded <br />the motion. Councilman Krueper moved for a roll call vote-on the adoption of the Resolution. Upon Roll Call, the <br />Resolution was adopted by a vote of 3 ayes, I nay (Councilman Glass). <br />Cbuncilman,Glas,§ made.-a motion to adjourn the meeting and to accompany Mr. Jesse Dickinson on a tour of inspection <br />of the Federal Housing Project at Western Avenue and Taylor Street.
