ORDINANCE NO. 4312 - - -60. <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN 1959 GENERAL STREET <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND $3,500.00 <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of B ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman <br />Coleman). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4313 - - -60 <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />$1,200.00 AND CONTROLLER'S OFFICE $700.00 <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman <br />Coleman). <br />REPORT OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS <br />(Approximately 48 acres adjacent to the Airport) <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />April 11, 1960 <br />The attached petition of Alice F and Robert C. Barton, et al, to annex to the City of South Bend, Indiana the <br />South one -half of the South one -half of the NEk of Sec. No. 33, T38N, R2E; together with a parcel of reality commenc- <br />ing on the East line of Sec. No. 33 in T3EN, R2E, at a point 660 feet North of the Southeast corner of the NEk of <br />said Sec. No. 33; thence West a distance of 1320.60 feet to the Southwest corner of the North one -half of the <br />Southeast quarter of the NE4 of said Sec. No. 33; thence North 261.56 feet; thence East 1320.67 feet to a point on <br />the East line of Said Sec. No. 33 which is 275.65 feet North of the place of beginning; thence South 275.63 feet to <br />the place of beginning, consisting of approximately 48 acres, more or less, being generally described as being West <br />of Maple Road, East of Sheridan Avenue, and North of the present city limits was legally advertised on March 28, <br />1960 and given public hearing under date of April 7, 1960. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that: <br />1. The annexation is in the best interests of the city and of the territory sought to be annexed. <br />2. The area is urban in character, being an economic and social part of the annexing city, <br />3. The city is financially able to provide municipal services to the annexed area within the reasonably near <br />future. <br />4. The area sought to be annexed is needed for development of the city in the reasonably near future. <br />5. The lines of the annexation are so drawn as to form a compact area abutting the municipality. <br />It was therefore duly moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Com- <br />mon Council. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />/sl Robert L. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4314 - - -60 <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Approximately 43 acres adjacent to the Airport) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for <br />suspension of the rules. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays <br />1 absent (Councilman Coleman). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, <br />0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Coleman). <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF POLICE REPORTING SYSTEM <br />AND PROHIBITING THE USE OF SAID REPORTING SYSTEM FOR ANY PURPOSES OTHER <br />THAN MATTERS PERTAINING TO POLICE OR FIREMEN. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and.second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that <br />the ordinance be set for public hearing at the next regular meeting of the Council. Councilman Lehman seconded the <br />Motion.— carried. <br />ORDINANCE' <br />AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE BUSINESS OF INSTALLING AND SERVICING TELEVISION EQUIPMENT IN THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND; TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND TO <br />PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE TERMS THEREOF <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title. Councilman Lehman moved that the Ordinance be referred to the Com- <br />mittee of the Whole and have second and third reading at its public hearing. Councilman Muszynski seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />
