REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING METER FEES AND FUNDS TO THE <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE USES AND PURPOSES SET FORTH THERE <br />IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 236-OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF INDIANA OF 1945, AS AMENDED BY <br />CHAPTER 303 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 1951, Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and <br />that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE. <br />Is'l T. RESOLUTION <br />Councilman Allen proposed the following Resolution: <br />WHEREAS, on February 8, 1960, the Boy Scouts of this area will observe "Scouts in Government Day "; and; <br />WHEREAS, we owe an obligation to the youth of our Community to encourage them to become responsible adult citizens, <br />one of the duties of which responsible citizenship is an intelligent interest in government; and, <br />WHEREAS, on February 8, 1950, certain designated Scouts will assume the duties of the various offices of City <br />government; NOW THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council that the Tri- Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America be and they are assured <br />of the fullest cooperation of the Common Council in the observance of "Scouts in Government Day" on .February 8, 1960. <br />I <br />
