152 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />DATT rATT <br />OCTOBER 5, 1959 <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Korpal, Erhardt, Tellson, Christman, Kroll, Glass, Hahn, Erler and Muszynski <br />ABSENT. None <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />WHEREAS, the creation of a Building Authority to be a body corporate and politic is authorized <br />by the Statutes of Indiana for the purpose of financing, acquiring, constructing, equipping, operating and <br />leasing to the governmental units within the territorial boundaries of the county, lands or buildings for <br />public or governmental purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed in the public interest for the creation of such an authority in St. Joseph <br />County to be considered in public hearing to be held and conducted by the Board of Commissioners of the County <br />of St. Joseph, the St. Joseph County Council and the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that <br />there be filed with the Auditor of St. Joseph County as provided by law a notice to be signed by the Preside <br />of this Council stating that this body has agreed, and this body does hereby so agree, to hold a public hear- <br />ing on and consider the creation of such an authority to be known as "South Bend - St. Joseph County Building <br />Authority" on October 20, 1959, at 7 :30 o'clock P.-M. in the St. Joseph Circuit Court Room in South Bend, Ind- <br />iana, which said notice shall be signed also by the presiding officers of the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of St. Joseph and the St, Joseph County Council, stating the agreement of those bodies if said bodies <br />so agree and the Auditor of St. Joseph County shall give notice as provided by law. <br />Done this 5th day of October, 1959. <br />/S/ Stanley C. Korpal <br />MEMBER OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. Resolution adopted. <br />Councilman Kroll then made a motion that the Council hold a Special Meeting on October 20, 1959, in the St. <br />Joseph County Circuit Court Room for the purpose of attending a public hearing on the South Bend - St. Joseph <br />County Building Authority. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Special Meeting of the Council, Councilman Hahn made a <br />motion to adjourn. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion.
