REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 28, 1959 <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Councilman Muszynski complained that inter -city trucks are blocking South Olive Street from the railroad crossing <br />back to the 800 Block of S. Olive St. This situation is caused by the work being done on Sample Street. He asked <br />that the Traffic Engineer be instructed to reroute trucks on Prairie and Chapin Streets until this work is completed. <br />Councilman Erler complained about the Giant Store on Ireland Road at Miami. He asked that the Building Commissioner, <br />Mr. Lane, check the permits in regard to retaining wall and guard rail. Also, did they agree to set up a buffer <br />between the store and the homes nearby? Mr. Erler asked that a report be made by Mr. Lane for the next meeting of the <br />Council. <br />Miss Guthrie, South Bend Civic Planning Association Executive Secretary, questioned the Council in regard to the <br />Urban Redevelopment Commission requesting federal funds without approval by the Council. Mr. Korpal, president, <br />asked the Clerk to advise Mr. Sucher to be present at the meeting of October 13th to answer questions. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn. Counci <br />Tellson seconded the motion.
