149 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 28, 1959 ORDINANCE NO. 4280 - - -59 AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN FIRE DEPARTMENT AND CITY TREASURER IN AMOUNT OF $1870.00 AND TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT IN AMOUNT OF $1650.00 The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Hahn). ORDINANCE NO. 4281 - -59 AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN POLICE DEPARTMENT IN AMOUNT OF $2,400.00 The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Hahn). ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH CLINIC IN AMOUNT OF $600.00 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Erler made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public Hearing on October 13, 1959, because of the fact that the next regular meeting would be on October 12th, a Legal Holiday and therefore the next meeting would be held on the 13th of October. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN CONTROLLER'S OFFICE $3,500.00 AND STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND $800.00 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on October 13th. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF MONROE STREET IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND FROM TAYLOR STREET TO SCOTT STREET TO KOVATS DRIVE The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Tellson made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Christman seconded the motion. Motion lost upon roll call. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance be put in committee for further study. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Mot carried. Councilman Kroll then made a motion that the Committee meet in order to study this Ordinance and have a report ready for the meeting of the Council on October 13, 1959. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN OFFICIAL BUILDING CODE FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA Councilman Erler made a motion that the Ordinance be put in the Committee of the Whole for Study before it is presented to the Council for action. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. RESOLUTION The Council then adopted a Resolution extending sympathy to Mayor Voorde and his family upon the death of JOSEPH VOORDE, Father of Mayor Voorde. (See next page)
