149 <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 28, 1959 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4280 - - -59 <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN FIRE DEPARTMENT AND <br />CITY TREASURER IN AMOUNT OF $1870.00 AND TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT IN <br />AMOUNT OF $1650.00 <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Hahn). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4281 - -59 <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />IN AMOUNT OF $2,400.00 <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Hahn). <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN ENGINEERING <br />DEPARTMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH CLINIC IN AMOUNT OF $600.00 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Erler made a motion that <br />the Ordinance be set for Public Hearing on October 13, 1959, because of the fact that the next regular meeting would <br />be on October 12th, a Legal Holiday and therefore the next meeting would be held on the 13th of October. Councilman <br />Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN CONTROLLER'S <br />OFFICE $3,500.00 AND STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND $800.00 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion that the <br />Ordinance be set for public hearing on October 13th. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF MONROE STREET IN THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND FROM TAYLOR STREET TO SCOTT STREET TO KOVATS DRIVE <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Tellson made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Christman seconded the motion. Motion lost upon roll call. Councilman Kroll <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be put in committee for further study. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Mot <br />carried. Councilman Kroll then made a motion that the Committee meet in order to study this Ordinance and have a <br />report ready for the meeting of the Council on October 13, 1959. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN OFFICIAL BUILDING CODE FOR THE CIVIL CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />Councilman Erler made a motion that the Ordinance be put in the Committee of the Whole for Study before it is <br />presented to the Council for action. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />The Council then adopted a Resolution extending sympathy to Mayor Voorde and his family upon the death of JOSEPH <br />VOORDE, Father of Mayor Voorde. (See next page) <br />
