Be it.rememberd that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council
<br />Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, August 3, 1959, at 8 :14 P.M., with all members present. The Clerk read the following
<br />Call for a Special Meeting: Councilman Korpal, President presided.
<br />CALL FOR A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />We, the undersigned members of the Common Council, hereby call a Special Meeting of the Common Council of the City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana, to convene at the Council Chambers at the City Hall at 8 :00 P.M., on the 3rd day of August,
<br />1959, for the purpose of considering the following:
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET -
<br />OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF 'SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
<br />JANUARY 1, 1960, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1960, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS
<br />FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE GENERAL FUNDS, OF SAID
<br />CITY, TO -wit: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK DEPARTMENTS, FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS,
<br />AND THE CITY PLAN AND URBAN REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSIONS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE
<br />ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS; FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES, REPEAL-
<br />ING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL
<br />TAKE EFFECT.
<br />ALSO
<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1960 FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />The Chief of Police or any member, of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on
<br />each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

<br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Call for a Special Meeting be accepted and placed on file. Councilman
<br />Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the
<br />Ordinance be set for Public Hearing on August 31, 1959. Councilman Erhardt seconded the motion. Motion carried.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Kroll made a motion to adjourn. Councilman
<br />Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Special Meeting of the Common Council adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
