117 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 22, 1959 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the <br />Council Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, June 22, 1959, at 8 :05 P.M., with all members present except Councilman <br />Korpal. The meeting was called to order by Councilman Joseph T. Kroll, Chairman, who presided. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF'SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />(Lincolnway East between Twyckenham and Caroline) <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this ordinance. <br />Speaking against the proposed Ordinance were the following: <br />Charles Taylor, 1352 Lincolnway East; Lee Widener, 1617 Caroline Street; L. J. Craig, 1621 Caroline Street; Earl <br />Lindsey, 1618 Twyckenham Drive; Paul Marsh, 1622 Caroline Street; Lola Wymap, 1615 Caroline Street. <br />Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance were the following: <br />Mr. Robert Zimmerman, Attorney for the petitioners; and Hildred Kuhn, 1512 Lincolnway East. <br />Councilman Christman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Erhardt seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING FROM OFFICE OF THE BOARD GENERAL <br />FUND ACCOUNT H -58 CONTINGENCIES TO ACCOUNT H -725 OFFICE <br />EQUIPMENT $200.00; FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT GENERAL FUND ACCOUNT <br />Q -11 SERVICES PERSONAL $3,100.00 TO ACCOUNT Q -262 MEDICAL, <br />SURGICAL AND DENTAL $600.00 AND TO ACCOUNT Q -321 FUEL, OIL <br />AND COAL $2,500.00; FROM ACCOUNT Q -711 FIXED EQUIPMENT TO <br />ACCOUNT Q -726 OTHER EQUIPMENT (DISTRIBUTORSCOPE) $500.00; <br />AND FROM BUILDING DEPARTMENT GENERAL FUND TO ACCOUNT MB -724 <br />MOTOR EQUIPMENT $1,800.00; AND FROM TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT STREET <br />AND TRAFFIC FUND TO ACCOUNT T -343 MEDICAL, SURGICAL AND <br />DENTAL $700.00; ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 1959 OF THE <br />CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND DECLARINGAN EXTRAORDINARY <br />EMERGENCY. <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. <br />Miss Virginia Guthrie, Executive Secretary of the South Bend Civic Planning Association, was heard. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Tellson seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. f <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn. <br />Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion.
