REGULAR MEETING <br />ORDINANCE:NO 4240 -58: <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND <br />SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT AND INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER COMPANY <br />FOR ONE 1958 INTERNATIONAL TRUCK MODEL A -120 FOUR WHEEL <br />DRIVE, 114 INCH BASE FOR $2,923.32''. <br />AUGUST 11, 1958 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Kroll made a motion for suspen- <br />sion of rules. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, no nays, 1 absent <br />The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, no nays, 1 absent. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Councilman Tellson informed the Council that complaints had been received from residents of Gertrude Street about <br />the number of large trucks using the Street. The Street is narrow and the pavement is not adequate for truck traffic <br />Mr. Louis Nagy, 3307 Gertrude. Street, also spoke on the subject, and said heavy trucks use Gertrude Streetas a <br />short cut from Rum Village Park. <br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the Traffic Engineer be requested to make a study of traffic on Gertrude Street <br />and to determine the size of the tricks that can safely use Gertrude Street, and to post signs limiting the weight <br />of trucks on the Street, if necessary. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion Carried, and the Clerk was <br />directed to refer the matter to the Board of Public Works and Safety. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Tellson <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Regular Meeting of the Common Council adjourned at 8:39 P.M. <br />ATTEST. <br />CLERK 'RESIDENT <br />
