Michigan Streets and 200 feet, more or less, north of Albert Street, being recently annexed land to the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, to "C" Commercial Use District and "A" Height and Area District was legally advertised on May 26,' <br />1958 and given public hearing under date of 5 June 1958. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that substantial justice would be done by the favorable <br />recommendation of the petition. Motion <br />carried. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Councilman Muszynski announced that Railroad ;Grader<crossings in several parts of the City are in deplorable con- <br />dition despite the letter received from the Board of Public Works and Safety at the last regular meeting of the <br />Council stating the conditions to be corrected, <br />The Clerk was directed to refer the matter to the Board of Public Works and Safety with a recommendation that a <br />stronger letter be written to the Railroads demanding that the Railroads obey their contracts with the City which <br />include the maintenance of all grade crossings. <br />Councilman Kroll informed the Council that when a portion of Johnson Street was vacated, the Chicagg South Shore and <br />South Bend Railroad promised to move their signals from Johnson Street to Brookfield Street. To date the signals <br />have not been moved. The Clerk was directed to ask the Board of Public Works and Safety to remind the C.S.S.& SB, RR <br />of this matter and have it corrected. <br />
