REGULAR MEETING JUNE 9, 1958 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, met in Regular Session in the Council Chambers <br />on Monday, June 9, 1958, at 8:26 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by President <br />Stanley C. Korpal, who presided. <br />ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmen Korpal, Carr, Tellson, Christman, Kroll, Glass, Hahn, Erler and Muszynski <br />ABSENT: None <br />MINUTES <br />Report of Committee on Minutes <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected <br />the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Carr <br />South Bend, Ind., JUNE 9, 1958 <br />MINUTES OF MEETING OF MAY 26, 1958. <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Hahn seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION: <br />WHEREAS, the Saint Joseph County Industrial Union Council, CIO comprises a substantial body of men and <br />women with a vital stake in the continued progress and development of the South Bend Community; and <br />WHEREAS, the development of a governmental center, as proposed, would greatly contribute to the beauty <br />as well as indelibly imprint the stamp of progress on this comminity;:and <br />WHEREAS, this wise plan can be achieved only throught the wholehearted cooperation of people in every <br />walk of life, public and private; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Library Trustees missed a golden opportunit to figure prominently in this com- <br />munity development, and stood aloof and indifferent to�the challenge; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of.-South'Bend has an= urban redevelopment pr gram presently underway which will fit <br />perfectly into the planning for the development of the governmental center/ and <br />r" <br />
