REGULAR MEETING JUNE 9, 1958 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, met in Regular Session in the Council Chambers on Monday, June 9, 1958, at 8:26 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by President Stanley C. Korpal, who presided. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmen Korpal, Carr, Tellson, Christman, Kroll, Glass, Hahn, Erler and Muszynski ABSENT: None MINUTES Report of Committee on Minutes To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. COMMUNICATION: WHEREAS, the Saint Joseph County Industrial Union Council, CIO comprises a substantial body of men and women with a vital stake in the continued progress and development of the South Bend Community; and WHEREAS, the development of a governmental center, as proposed, would greatly contribute to the beauty as well as indelibly imprint the stamp of progress on this comminity;:and WHEREAS, this wise plan can be achieved only throught the wholehearted cooperation of people in every walk of life, public and private; and WHEREAS, the Board of Library Trustees missed a golden opportunit to figure prominently in this com- munity development, and stood aloof and indifferent to�the challenge; and WHEREAS, the City of.-South'Bend has an= urban redevelopment pr gram presently underway which will fit perfectly into the planning for the development of the governmental center/ and r"
