REGULAR MEETING <br />PETITION: <br />FEBRUARY 24, 1958 <br />Petition of Frank Wisniewski, et al, to rezone Lots 21, 22 and 23 Janowski's Sub of Lot 9 K. & M. addition. <br />Councilman Hahn made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Kroll <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITIONS: <br />A petition was filed containing 252 signatures of residents of Camden and Dundee Streets concerning truck traffic on <br />their streets. <br />Apetition was filed containing 91 signatures of residents of Kaley Street concerning truck traffic on their street. <br />A petition was filed containing 192 signatures of residents of Meade Street concerning truck traffic on their street. <br />A petition was filed containing 150 signatures of residents of Bendix Drive concerning truck traffic on their street. <br />Councilman Christman made a motion that the petitions be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Hahn seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />CONTROLLER'S REPORT OF THE MONTH OF JANUARY, 1958: <br />Balance on Hand January 1, 1958 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- $2,906,185.36. <br />Receipts during Month ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ $ 838,895.67 <br />Disbursements during Month ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $ 602,399.62 <br />Balance on hand February 1, 1958:: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- $3,142,681.41 <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Hahn seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE: <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY <br />TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Albert Street - -- Petition of Blenke Brothers), Respectfully report that they have <br />examined the matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE. <br />/s/ W. A. Hahn, Chairman <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Tellson seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4219 <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Albert Street-- Blenke Bros. Petition). <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by g roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen Glass <br />and Carr). <br />ORDINANCE 4220 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS AND <br />LAYNE NORTHERN COMPANY, INCORPORATED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ONE DEEP GRAVEL <br />PACKED WELL TO BE LOCATED AT THE NORTH STATION FOR THE SUM OF $23,630.00 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion for sus - <br />pension of Rules. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, <br />2 hbsent (Councilmen Carr and Glass). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote <br />of 7ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen Carr and Glass). <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Councilman Tellson asked the City Attorney if he had prepared an Ordinance relating to the sale of artificially <br />dyed chickens and ducks for childrens' pets. Mr. Smith stated that he was working on the Ordinance and would have <br />one prepared for presentation at the next Council meeting. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Kroll second - <br />ed the motion. Motion carried and the Regular Meeting of the Common Council adjourned at 9:00 P.M. <br />ATTEST: APPROVED: <br />CLERK / PRESIDENT <br />
