53
REGULAR MEETING JULY 12, 1971
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Councilman Robert 0. Laven read a communication which he had received with reference to campaign
posters. Mrs. Blough, City Clerk, raised the issue in a letter to the council in which she said
political posters still blot utility poles, trees and buildings from the spting city election
campaign. City Attorney Shepard J. Crumpacker said an ordinance forbids the placing of posters
on utility poles and trees in public rights- of- way:and that the ordinance is hard to enforce
because criminal action can be brought only against the person who actually put it on a pole.
Council President Laven, said "I wonder if we could ask The Tribune to call attention to this
and ask the politicians as a matter of courtest to remove them ?" There was some objection on
spending city money for their removal.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Craven moved for ad-
journment. Councilman wise so moved. Motion carried. Time: 10:40 P. M.
ATTEST:
I C12TY CLERK D
APPROVED:
PRESIDENT
