2.Requests for Use of Parks-Betsy Harriman <br /> a. Yoga Association of Michiana—Use of Howard Park June,July,August for <br /> free yoga lessons—Co-sponsored by DTSB (MWF). <br /> b. Sabor Latino Radio—Use of LaSalle Park for Children's Day Celebration— <br /> April 27, 2013 <br /> c. East Race Kayak Club—Use of East Race for World Kayak Events—May 11 <br /> and September 14, 2013 <br /> d. Pound the Pavement for Parenthood-Leeper Park-April 22 <br /> Ms. Harriman remarked that all except"b" and"d"had the required insurance certificates,but <br /> she felt that they would acquire them prior to their dates. <br /> Ms. Greene said it would be all right to approve the requests contingent on the above mentioned <br /> groups presenting the certificates prior to the date of their events. <br /> Mr. BonDurant made the motion to approve all subject to Sabor Lation Radio and Pound the <br /> Pavement meeting the insurance requirement. Ms. Hill seconded the motion and it was passed. <br /> VI. Approval of Minutes <br /> Ms. Hill made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on March 18, <br /> 2010 as mailed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Mullins and approved. <br /> VII. Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> A motion was made by Mr. Mullins to approve maintenance vouchers for March 2013 totaling <br /> $1,097,489.00. <br /> It was seconded by Mr. BonDurant. There being no further discussion,the motion was passed. <br /> VIII. Business of Director St. Clair <br /> 1. Director St. Clair discussed the Key Performance Indicators that the department is tracking <br /> for monthly meetings with the Mayor and other departments. <br /> 2. He discussed the parking situation at Potawatomi Park. An area on the east side of the park <br /> may be used as extra parking. <br /> 3. A donation of a greenhouse structure from Michaelangelos was deemed too expensive to <br /> dismantle and move. <br /> 4. We will be participating in an intern program with the South Bend Community School <br /> Corporation. <br /> 5. We have three staff members on the newly formed Mayor's Anti-Violence Commission. They <br /> are Maurice Scott, Cynthia Taylor, and Mike Bueno. <br /> 6. Staff are working on a request for proposal for the department's master plan update. <br /> 7. The forestry division will be giving away trees at Earth Day activities this Saturday. <br /> IX. Comments by the Interim Zoo Director <br /> 1. Ms. Arriaga reported that she had just returned from an American Zoos and Aquarium <br /> meeting and it covered disaster recovery planning for zoos. She will be working with the City's <br /> Safety and Risk Department to update the Zoo's response plan. <br /> 2. Attendance for March is up. Media coverage was good for the opening. <br /> - -3 - - <br />
