<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5271 -71
<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL SALARIES, PAYABLE
<br />FROM THE GENERAL FUND, FOR OFFICERS OF THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND TO BE ELECTED FOR THE TERM COMMENCING
<br />JANUARY 1, 1972 AND FIXING THE TIME WHEN THE SAME
<br />SHALL TAKE EFFECT, AS AMENDED.
<br />The City Clerk was instructed by Council President Laven to read the amendment offered as a
<br />substitute for Section I of the ordinance. It was as follows:
<br />Section I. That the following annual salaries, payable from the
<br />General Fund, are hereby fixed for the following elected officers
<br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, effective for the elective
<br />term commencing January 1, 1972, and continuing during the years
<br />of their elective terms of office.

<br />Councilman Wise made a motion, seconded by Councilman Grounds for the adoption of the amendment.

<br />The ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Wise made a motion, seconded by Councilman
<br />Palmer, for passage of the ordinance as amended. There being no discussion on the motion, the
<br />ordinance was passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Grounds,
<br />Wise, Palmer and Zielinski) 2 nays. (Councilmen Craven and Szymkowiak) 0 absent.

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
<br />WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />AND BADGER METER MANUFACTURING COMPANY, MILWAU-
<br />KEE, WISCONSIN, FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ASSORT-
<br />MENT OF WATER METERS FOR USE FROM FEBRUARY 7,
<br />1971 TO FEBRUARY 7, 1972, IN THE AMOUNT OF
<br />$186,577.50
<br />The ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Grounds made a motion, seconded by Councilman
<br />Zielinski for passage of the Ordinance. There being no discussion on the motion, the ordinance
<br />was passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven, Grounds,
<br />Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski) 0 nays, 0 absent.

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
<br />WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />AND GAMON - CALMET INDUSTRIES INC. OF FLORENCE,
<br />KENTUCKY FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ASSORTMENT OF
<br />WATER METERS FOR USE FROM FEBRUARY 7, 1971 TO
<br />FEBRUARY 7, 1972, IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,257.94.
<br />The ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Allen made a motion, seconded by
<br />Grounds for passage of the Ordinance. There being no discussion on the motion, the
<br />was passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Reinke, Craven,
<br />Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski) 0 nays, 0 absent.
