REGULAR MEETING MARCH 10, 1969 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 10, 1969 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council <br />Chambers in City Hall on Monday, March 101". 1969, at 8:14 p.m., with all members present. <br />The meeting was called to order by President Robert 0. Laven, who presided. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Laven, Allen, Craven, Reinke, Grounds, Szymkowiak, <br />Wise, Palmer and Zielinski. <br />ABSENT: None <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, would respectfully report <br />that they have inspected the minutes of February 24, 1969 meeting of the Council and found <br />them correct. Palmer <br />There being no objections, the report was accepted as read, and placed on file. <br />CITIZENS REQUESTS - MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS <br />Council President Robert 0. Laven acknowledged a visiting group of young men from the South <br />Bend Chapter of the Order of DeMolay and also several John Adams High School students. <br />He commended them on their interest in City Government. <br />Councilman Zielinski read the following petition for members of the LaSalle Park District: <br />To The Members of the Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />State'of Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />We, the people of the Area in the City of South Bend, Indiana, known as the LaSalle Park <br />District, petition the Members of the Common Council of the said City of South Bend, Indiana <br />and the South Bend Redevelopment Commission, for the right and the privilege of continuing <br />to have our own Neighborhood Tavern in our Community. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />:February 20, 1969. <br />Members of the LaSalle Park District <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Councilman Laven recommended the petition be accepted as read and placed on file. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE MAKING OF A TEMPORARY LOAN FOR THE GENERAL FUND AND THE ISSUANCE <br />AND SALE OF WARRANTS OF THE CITY FOR SUCH PURPOSE." <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the Ordinance <br />go to the Council as favorable. <br />/s/ William W. Grounds <br />Chairman <br />There being no objections, the report was accepted as read, and placed on file. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CONTRACTS BETWEEN <br />THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND VARIOUS SUPPLIERS <br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT TOTALING $8,670.83." <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the Ordinance <br />go to the Council as favorable. <br />/s/ William W.
