1-42 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1969 <br />Councilman Craven asked if there had been anything done about paying Firemen additional pay <br />for holiday work. Councilman Laven stated he had written a letter to the Mayor but had <br />not received a reply yet. Councilman Allen asked that City Attorney Shepa r -d Crumpacker <br />proceed with an ordinance taking care of holiday pay for the firemen and submit it to the <br />Ordinance Committee, <br />Councilman Allen, Chairman of the Urban Redevelopment & Public Housing Committee asked that <br />the councilmanic district maps,upon which councilmen were to mark prospective site; where 600 <br />units of new public housing are to be built, be returned to her before the next Council meet <br />Councilman Laven directed that a letter be sent to Prosecutor William E. Voor commending <br />him for his recent actions against pornography. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilman Allen noted that her recent public appeal for co- operation to stamp out obscenity <br />has received wide response. <br />The Council agreed at the suggestion of Councilman Szymkowiak, that it should acknowledge the <br />distinction that has been accorded Stanley Covelski, a South Bend resident recently inducted <br />into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He suggested a placque be placed in his honor in the new <br />City- County Building. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Wise made a motion <br />to adjourn.
