621V <br />JUNE 10. 197 <br />REGULAR MEETING - RECONVENED (CONTINUED) <br />heading, and the insertion of the figure "7.6250" in the blank line on page 2 and the figure "98%" <br />in the blank line on page 3, seconded by Councilman Miller. The motion carried. Mr. Peter <br />Krehbiel, Secretary, and the General Counsel of American Chain & Cable were introduced, and <br />expressed their thanks to the Council and the South Bend Development Commission for help in <br />establishing the firm in South Bend. Councilman Newburn made a motion that the ordinance pass, as <br />amended, seconded by Councilman Kopczynski. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes <br />(Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth). <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE REGULATING VEHICLE PARKING. <br />This ordinance had first reading. Councilman Parent made a motion to refer the ordinance to the <br />Public Works Committee and set the ordinance for public hearing and second reading on June 24, <br />1974, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak. The motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND LANDMARK OF <br />INDIANA, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL <br />ESTATE IN THE AMOUNT OF $163,000.00 AND <br />COMMITMENT FOR THE APPROVAL OF APPROPRIA- <br />TION OF FUNDS THEREFOR. <br />This ordinance had first reading. Councilman Parent made a motion that the ordinance be set for <br />public hearing and second reading on June 24, 1974, seconded by Councilman Taylor. The motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $6,000.00 FROM <br />THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY <br />REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, <br />FOR VARIOUS PARK DEPARTMENT PROGRAMS, TO <br />BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS. <br />This ordinance had first reading. Councilman Taylor made a motion that the ordinance be set for <br />public hearing and second reading on June 24, 1974, seconded by Councilman Horvath. The motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING <br />CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA (southwest corner of South <br />Michigan and Chippewa). <br />This ordinance had first reading. Council President Nemeth asked if the city had obtained title <br />to the land, and Mr. Robert Parker, Deputy City Attorney, stated that the deed has been promised. <br />Council President Nemeth asked if the ordinance contained the land upon which the connector would <br />set, and Mr. Warren McGill, attorney for the First Bank and Trust Company, indicated that it did <br />not. Councilman Miller made a motion that the ordinance, along with the petition, be referred to <br />the Area Plan Commission and the Council Committee on Governmental Procedure, seconded by Council. <br />Parent. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Councilman Kopczynski made a motion to strike the ordinance filed on November 29, 1972, pertaining <br />to the Area Board of Zoning Appeals, seconded by Councilman Parent. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Councilman Newburn <br />made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Kopczynski.
