F . <br />GULAR MEETING <br />ZEGULAR MEETING - RECONVENED (CONTINUED) <br />ere concerned with would be coming up for public hearing. Council President Nemeth agreed with Mr <br />rummond; however, he indicated that it was impossible to do. Mr. Drummond wondered why the pros <br />nd cons could not be put into their respective category. Council President Nemeth indicated that, <br />t the public hearings, everyone is given an opportunity to speak and he stated that if Mr. Drummonc <br />ould come up with a fair method of cutting people off from speaking on certain matters, the Counci: <br />ould consider the suggestion. Councilman Parent indicated that he did not feel sorry for people <br />hat have to spend five hours at a Council meeting. He felt the citizens do not spend enough time <br />earning about their government and how it functions. Mr. Drummond stated that people just do not <br />ave the time to spend at Council meetings. Councilman Parent stated that, when the matters con - <br />ern them, they should just take the time. He stated that government needs citizen participation. <br />BUSINESS <br />uncilman Miller made a motion to re- appoint Thomas Brubaker to the Civic Center Authority, <br />conded by Councilman Parent. The motion carried. <br />uncil President Nemeth announced the formation of a special Committee on Claims to make recommen- <br />tions to the Council regarding claims and to prescribe the method for handling those claims. <br />uncil President Nemeth was to be chairman of the committee, with Councilmen Miller and Kopczynski <br />members. <br />ere being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Councilman Newburn <br />de a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Councilman Miller.
