<br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
<br />THROUGH ITS BOARD OF WASTEWATER COMMISSIONERS
<br />AND H. DeWULF MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS, INC.
<br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $161,706.00 FOR THE

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $13,116.00
<br />FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY
<br />REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
<br />FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMS, TO
<br />BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
<br />SAFETY.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Councilman Parent made a motion to amend the ordinance as
<br />follows: Account 110.0, Services Personal, to read "Account 262.0, Services Contractual" and amen
<br />the total amount of $12,000 to $13,116, with the total Services Contractual and total FA40 to be
<br />$13,116. Councilman Horvath seconded the motion to amend. The motion carried. Councilman Taylor
<br />then made a motion that the amended ordinance be continued to the February 11, 1974, meeting for
<br />public hearing and second reading, seconded by Councilman Horvath. The motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $116,490.00
<br />FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY
<br />REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
<br />FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMS, TO
<br />BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
<br />SAFETY.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Councilman Taylor made a motion to amend the ordinance as
<br />follows: Reduce all figures by half and insert the words "for a period not to exceed six months ",
<br />seconded by Councilman Horvath. Councilman Miller indicated that, despite the concern, a good
<br />presentation had been made by Captain Friend on the status of the foot patrol. Councilman
<br />Szymkowiak indicated that he had hoped an appropriation could be accomplished every four months,
<br />but he would agree to the six -month period. The motion to amend carried. Councilman Parent then
<br />made a motion that the ordinance pass, as amended, seconded by Councilman Taylor. The ordinance
<br />passed by a roll call vote of eight ayes (Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor,
<br />Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth).and one nay (Councilman Kopczynski }.
