Nemeth presiding. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />Your committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would respectfully report that <br />they have inspected the minutes of the December 4, 1972 :regular meeting and the December 11, 1972 <br />special meeting of the Council and found them correct. Miller <br />Councilman Serge made a motion that the report be accepted as read and placed on file, seconded <br />by Councilman Szymkowiak.' The motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS <br />Councilman Horvath, Chairman of the Elections Committee, gave the following report for his Com- <br />mittee which includes Councilmen Serge and Kopczynski. According to the Municipal Code of the <br />City of South Bend, the present officers of the Council serve until noon on January lst. Since <br />this is the last meeting of the Council for this year, the Committee wishes to recommend the <br />following Council members for officers for the year 1973. Councilman Horvath then moved for the <br />nomination of Peter J. Nemeth as President of the Council, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak. <br />Councilman Parent made a motion that the nominations be closed, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak. <br />The motion carried. Councilman Horvath then moved to nominate Walter Szymkowiak as Vice President <br />of the Council, seconded by Councilman Parent. Councilman Taylor moved to nominate Terry Miller <br />for Vice President. The motion died for lack of a second. Councilman Parent moved that the <br />nominations be closed, seconded by Councilman Serge. The motion carried. Councilman Horvath <br />moved for the nomination of Odell Newburn as Chairman of the Committee of the Whole, seconded by <br />Councilman Szymkowiak. The motionvcariied. Councilman Parent then made a motion that all three <br />nominated persons be elected..-by acclamation. Councilman Horvath seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />
