75 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 10, 1972 <br />ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING (CONTINUED) <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $1,500.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO <br />ACCOUNT W -37, "OTHER SUPPLIES ", IN THE RADIO <br />DEPARTMENT BUDGET, SAID ACCOUNT BEING WITHIN THE <br />GENERAL FUND. <br />This Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Parent <br />moved that the ordinance be set for public hearing on July 24, 1972, seconded by Councilman <br />Serge. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $97',500 FROM THE <br />LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO THE ACCOUNT <br />"SERVICES CONTRACTUAL" WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD <br />AND STREET FUND. <br />This Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Upon motion made by <br />Councilman Serge, seconded by Councilman Miller, and carried, the ordinance was set for public <br />hearing on July 24, 1972. <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES <br />OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR 1973. <br />This Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Upon motion by <br />Councilman Parent, seconded by Councilman Taylor, and carried, the ordinance was set for public <br />hearing on July 24, 1972. <br />NEW .!,BUS INES S <br />Councilman Taylor said that he had occasion to call the Fire Department for a small field fire <br />and that the Fire Department is to be commended for a job well done and for responding so <br />quickly. He reported that only 4k minutes elapsed between his phone call and the firemen's <br />arrival at the fire. Councilman Kopczynski got chuckles from the audience when he quipped "May <br />I ask what fire truck they drove to respond so rapidly ?" Councilman Parent instructed the City <br />Clerk to send these comments to Fire Chief Bland. <br />In view of the requests for appropriations received by the Council, Councilman Miller instructed <br />the City Clerk to request from the City Controller a complete breakdown, line by line, of the <br />balances in each account as of June 30th. <br />There being no further business, unfinished or new, to come before the Council, Councilman <br />Kopczynski made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Parent.
