6 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 24, 1980 <br />REGULAR MEETING RECONVENED (CONTINUED <br />BILL NO. 30 -80 <br />A BILL AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, BY THE INCLUSION OF NEW ARTICLE <br />10 ENTITLED RESTRICTED PARKING OF RECREATIONAL VEHICLES <br />AND TRUCKS HAVING MORE THAN 10,000 GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT. <br />This bill had fifst reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to refer this bill to the <br />Public Works Committee, and set it for public hearing and second reading April 14, 1980, <br />seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Report from Area Plan: <br />Bill No. 17 -80 - NORTHWEST CORNER OF STATE ROAD 23 AND JACOB <br />"Upon a motion by Pat McMahon, seconded by Rene Vandewalle, and unanimously carried, the <br />proposed ordinance and site development plan of J.B.K. Partnership is returned to the Common <br />Council with a favorable recommendation subject to the following conditions: 1. A Final <br />Site Plan, and; 2. The commission's forwarding a policy statement to the Council outlining <br />the Commission's position that further commercial development of the South Bend Avenue <br />frontage between Jacob Street and Edison Road should be of a low - intensity office nature <br />and not retail commercial. The Commission's policy statement will be forwarded to the <br />Common Council by letter report within the next two weeks." <br />Council Member Kopczynski made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading <br />April 14, 1980, seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Sale of City -owned property: 1511 Marietta, 2601 W. Lawton, 2609 W. Lawton, 2505 W. Lawton, <br />1212 S. Franklin <br />Council Member Beck made a motion to approve the sale of this property, seconded by Council <br />Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. <br />Council President McGann announced there would be an executive session of the Council, Thursday, <br />March 27, 1980, to discuss police and fire wage negotiations. He said they would meet with <br />the police at 4:00 p.m., and the firefighters at 4:45 p.m. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council Member <br />Kopczynski made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski.
