REGULAR MEETING JULY 23, 1979 <br />REGULAR MEETING RECONVENED (CONTINUED <br />BILLS, FIRST READING <br />BILL NO. 85 -79 A BILL ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND CERTAIN TERRITORY <br />CONTIGUOUS THERETO. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Miller made a motion to refer this bill to the <br />City Engineer and set it for public hearing and second reading August 27, 1979, seconded by <br />Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 86 -79 A BILL APPROPRIATING $16,350.00 FROM'THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE <br />GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR <br />VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKSPROGRAM TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to set this bill for public <br />hearing and second reading August 13, 1979, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion <br />carried. <br />BILL NO. 87 -79 A BILL APPROPRIATING $21,000.00 OF YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU MONIES <br />FROM THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU OPERATIONS FUND <br />FOR VARIOUS YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU ACTIVITIES DURING THE PERIOD <br />JULY 1, 1979 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1980. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to set this bill for public <br />hearing and second reading August 13, 1979, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion <br />carried. <br />BILL NO. 88 -79 A BILL APPROPRIATING $95,000 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT <br />FUND, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS REVENUE SHARING, FOR THE PURCHASE <br />OF DIESEL FUEL AND GASOLINE, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to set this bill for public <br />hearing and second reading August 13, 1979, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion <br />carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Sale of City -owned property: 722 Broadway, N.E. Corner Chapin and Western, NW Corner Chapin <br />and Western, 717 N. Eddy, 809 S. Kaley, 1129 S. LaFayette, 1214 Whiteman Court, 732 W. Wayne. <br />Council Member Adams made a motion that the Common Council had no objection to the sale of <br />this property, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion.carried. <br />Council Member Taylor read his letter to the Board of Safety requesting the status of their <br />investigation of the FIre Department management, as well as a public report after the investiga- <br />tion is closed. <br />Council Member Adams made a motion to have first reading on a bill to rezone 615 N. Michigan, <br />seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 89 -79 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA (CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (615 N. MICHIGAN ST.) <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to refer this bill to Area <br />Plan, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council Member <br />Horvath made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski.
