368 <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING (CONTINUED) <br />BILL NO. 221 -78 <br />A BILL TRANSFERRING $40,700.00 AMONG VARIOUS ACCOUNTS, <br />ALL ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BUDGET <br />OF THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponent <br />were given an opportunity to be heard. Fire Chief Van Wiele made the presentation for the <br />bill. He indicated this transfer was necessary in order to continue maintenance of the building <br />repair of equipment and to meet anticipated expenses in the Fire Department. Council Member <br />Adams made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member <br />Dombrowski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 222 -78 <br />A BILL TRANSFERRING $21,106.00 AMONG VARIOUS ACCOUNTS, <br />ALL ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL PARK FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponnents and opponen <br />were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. James Seitz, Superintendent of Parks, made the <br />presentation for the bill. He indicated this transfer was necessary for the operation of the <br />Ice Box skating facility. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to recommend this bill to <br />the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. Council Member Adams made a motion to continue public hearing <br />and second reading on this bill until December 11, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski. The <br />motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6500 -78 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $39,900.00 FROM THE EQUAL <br />EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />AND DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to pass this bill, seconded <br />by Council Member Dombrowski. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />BILL NO. 211 -78 A BILL APPROPRIATING $142,062.00 FROM THE SEWAGE WORKS <br />DEPRECIATION FUND TO THE SEWAGE WORKS OPERATION AND <br />MAINTENANCE FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF MOTOR EQUIPMENT <br />TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH <br />ITS BUREAU OF SANITATION. <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to strike this bill, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. <br />The motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6501 -78 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 2 -120 (a) <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />PERTAINING TO THE ANNUAL VACATION FOR CITY PERSONNEL. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass this bill, seconded <br />by Council Member Adams. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6502 -78 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING ALL PARKING GARAGE FEES AND FUNDS <br />AND PARKING VIOLATION FINES FOR THE YEAR 1979 TO THE BOARD OF <br />PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE <br />USES AND PURPOSES SET FORTH THEREIN, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER <br />190 OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE)'STATE OF INDIANA <br />OF 1955. <br />This bill had second reading.
