<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT TO THE
<br />UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
<br />DEVELOPMENT, AN APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
<br />UNDER TITLE I OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT
<br />OF 1974, AS AMENDED.
<br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of South Bend is the Chief Executive Officer of the City, and
<br />is the Applicant for an Innovative Grant called "Project Promote" under Title I of the Housing
<br />and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
<br />SECTION I. Hereby Establish the authority of the Mayor of the City of South Bend to submit
<br />an application for, Ln-ovative Project monies in the amount of Fifty Seven Thousand, One Hundred
<br />and Thirty Dollars130.00) to the United States Government, Department of Housing and Urban
<br />Development under TI.of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
<br />SECTION II. The Department of Human Resources and Economic Development will be designated
<br />Administrative Agent for the program. For every category established under this Resolution, the
<br />Mayor shall submit to the Common Council a line item budget in ordinance form prior to any ex-
<br />penditures of any grant money received upon approval of this application.
<br />SECTION III. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption
<br />by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

<br />A public hearing was held at this time on the resolution. Mr. Carl Ellison, Director of Com-
<br />munity Development indicated this was for an Innovate Grant proposal, such as Project Rebate.
