<br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL PAY OF POLICE-
<br />MEN FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1977.
<br />This ordinance had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this ordinance for
<br />public hearing and second reading July 19, 1976, and refer it to the Administration and Finance
<br />Committee, seconded by Council Member Adams. The motion carried.

<br />This ordinance had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this ordinance for

<br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN
<br />THE BUREAU OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA, AND (1) CLOW CORPORATION,
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND (2) KENNEDY VALVE
<br />MANUFACTURING COMPANY, ELMIRA, NEW YORK,
<br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ASSORTMENT OF WATER
<br />MAIN, VALVES AND FITTINGS IN THE AMOUNT OF
<br />$197,421.11.
<br />This ordinance had first reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to set this ordinance for

<br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN
<br />THE BUREAU OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MODEL
<br />GRR 160S AIR COMPRESSOR IN THE AMOUNT OF
<br />$4,608.00.

<br />public hearing and second reading July 19, 1976, seconded by Council Member Szymkowiak. The
<br />motion carried.
<br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN

<br />MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, AND (2) NEPTUNE METER
<br />COMPANY, LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PUR-
<br />CHASE OF AN ASSORTMENT OF WATER METERS IN
<br />THE AMOUNT OF $132,316.00.
<br />This ordinance had first reading. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to set the ordinance
<br />for public hearing and second reading July 19, 1976, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The
<br />motion carried.

<br />FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COM-
<br />MONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE
<br />SHARING FOR VARIOUS ADMINISTRATIVE
<br />PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPART-
<br />MENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE.
<br />This ordinance had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this ordinance for

<br />carried.

<br />THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED
<br />TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS
<br />PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED
<br />BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS FIRE
<br />DEPARTMENT.
<br />This ordinance had first reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to set this ordinance for
<br />public hearing and second reading July, 1976, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski. The motion
<br />carried.
<br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68,
<br />AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING
<br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />(CHAPTER 40, MUNICIPAL CODE) (IRELAND ROAD
<br />954.3 FEET WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF MIAMI
<br />AND IRELAND ROADS).
<br />This ordinance had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to refer this ordinance to
<br />Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Adams. The motion carried.
<br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR
<br />Mr. Ervin F. Purucker, 2001 Portage, Member of Zion, United Church of Christ, said there were
<br />23 members of the church and the pastor, attending this Council meeting. He said they were here
<br />because they were interested in the future of the city. He said they believe the actions of our
<br />elected officials are representative of the city's future. Mrs. Jane Swan, 2022 Swygart, indi-
<br />cated she thought they should put the minutes of the discussion on the fire lanes for Scottsdale
<br />Mall in the time capsule and let them figure it out in the future.
<br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS
<br />Council Member Kopczynski indicated that the Human Resources Committee have made their recommenda
<br />tions on the Human Rights ordinance and have filed them with the City Clerk. Council Member
