<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5955 -76 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 40
<br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />(Linden Road - Gertrude Street Area).
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Council Member Miller made a motion to pass the ordinance, se-
<br />conded by Council Member Szymkowiak. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of eight ayes

<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5957 -76 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 16, ARTICLE
<br />2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA PERTAINING TO THE RULES AND
<br />REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
<br />AND THE ADDITION OF AUTHORIZING THE TAKING
<br />OF COMPETITIVE BIDS FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE
<br />OF THE CITY.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to amend the ordinance
<br />as amended in the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Miller. The motion carried.
<br />Mayor Peter J. Nemeth said he would like to propose an amendment to section (f) so that it reads
<br />the lowest or best bidder. Council Member Taylor made such a motion, seconded by Council Member
<br />Dombrowski. Council Member Adams asked the Council attorney why it was lowest and best. Miss
<br />Cekanski Council attorney indicated that it should be lowest or best. The motion carried.
<br />Council Member Serge made a motion to pass the ordinance as amended, seconded by Council Member
<br />Dombrowski. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of eight ayes (Council Members Serge,
